www/mediawiki package is getting old.
I've included patches for the oldest still supported mediawiki
release in "Fix ..." below.

Wouldn't the currently recommended release (which appears to be
1.15.1?) be a better approach?

I read this on mediawiki.org:

"If your MediaWiki installation is heavily modified, it may be difficult to incorporate the latest official changes/updates to MediaWiki. To support such users, we maintain old branches of our code for up to a year."

Therefore I thought mediawiki-1.14.1 would be the best release to backport to pkgsrc-2009Q2, in order to fix the security issue in the older release.

I can fix patches for mediawiki-1.15.1 to current if someone backport 1.14.1 to pkgsrc-2009Q2 first...
Deal? :-)
