The 'GENERIC.mpnoacpi' means exactly what it's name implies: 'no acpi0 at
mainbus0' while still configuring the ioapic.

In my last message, I accidentally omitted what may be a (semi-)vital
piece of information: I instinctively constructed the '.wine/dosdevices'
hierarchy by hand before running winecfg to enforce further minimalism.
I'm currently rebuilding wine from the latest pkgsrc sources to start
vanilla and try to reproduce the exact problem as described by the
 submitter.
