It looks like it depends on whether MAKE_JOBS is defined or not.
When MAKE_JOBS is defined (even when it equals 1), build fails,
otherwise it does not.

In short: "make" succedes, "make MAKE_JOBS=1" fails.

NetBSD 4.99.20, pkgsrc HEAD.
