 I would suggest that Robert Elz tries to find that out by submitting
 patches to the Xen maintainer. If they accept them they will be
 integrated into "pkgsrc" with the next update automatically.

 That's correct, Ubuntu uses "dash" which is IIUC derived from a BSD shell.
