OK, to summarize the real issue:
At the moment the Linux rules are not distinguishing between SuSE
packages (which want to DIST_SUBDIR prefix) and non-SuSE packages (which
don't). This didn't matter much as most other packages like acroreader
already install into a prefix.

I'd just make the setting of DIST_SUBDIR optional or set a subdir for
this packages. I don't really care about either.
