in /etc/mk.conf i set CFLAGS and COPTS
to

COPTS+=" -O2 -mtune=pentium4 -march=pentium4 -pipe"
CFLAGS+" -O2 -mtune=pentium4 -march=pentium4 -pipe"

xorg does not take these in account when building,
other ports like KDE or abiword do.
