 It was complete -- xorg-libs' /usr/pkg/xorg/lib/libXpm.* had been built. For
 some reason, xorg-clients was not seeing them.
 
 After a complete rebuild of xorg-libs, the subsequent rebuild of xorg-clients
 DID in fact see xorg-libs' version of libXpm. I'm not clear why it worked
 this time and not previously, but I guess the PR can be closed. Sorry about
 the error.
