Thanks for the feedback. It is not sed(1) that depends on the locale, but
file(1), which in this case does not output "text file" but the japanese
translation of it. I will start a discussion on the tech-pkg mailing list
about it, since there are similar problems with sort(1) on Solaris, which
also depends on the locale.
