 This is fixed in 1.0pre8, but given that we are in the middle of a  
 freeze, now is probably not the best time to update the package.
 
 But in their release notes I see "fix the major issues caught by  
 Coverity's static analysis runs," so I could probably be convinced  
 that this is a necessary update.
