SunOS frylock 5.10 Generic_118822-25 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60

>Description:
I am receiving this error on a machine that was bootstrapped on 2006.02.09 ...
I do not receive this error on a Solaris 10 machine that was bootstrapped on 2006.01.30..

For comparison the two machines are
SunOS meatwad 5.10 Generic_118822-25 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-100 .. bootstrapped 2006.01.30
SunOS frylock 5.10 Generic_118822-25 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60 .. bootstrapped 2006.02.09

Both machines have /usr/pkgsrc mounted read-only from the same nfs server which has the latest pkgsrc tree checked out.

>How-To-Repeat:
root@frylock /usr/pkgsrc/graphics/php-gd
> bmake package clean
===> CATEGORIES and DISTNAME are mandatory.
*** Error code 255

Stop.
bmake: stopped in /usr/pkgsrc/graphics/php-gd

>Fix:
CATEGORIES is defined in Makefile ... DISTNAME is not...
