 My opinion is, if you supply a patch that cleanly does the right thing for all
 the OS's, or some of the OS's.. I will apply it.  I am not cool with a patch
 that disables re-entrant resolvers for all BSD's.. given that it works in 3.0
 
 If you would like to spend the time to generate a patch that properly handles
 each OS.. thats totally cool and totally up to you.  And if you PR it, I will
 apply it.  However I do ask that you create a new PR for it.. I'd rather we
 didn't overload this PR with creeping features.
 
 If you send me an email on the side with the PR # tho, I'll likely handle it
 right away for you.. I normally browse the ancient ones, so I don't tend to
 notice the new stuff.
