This is really strange; I can't see how the HAVE_XV conditional can be
undefined by looking at configure.ac.  (I remember that this issue existed
in the code, but that was a year ago and is already fixed in the mainstream
code.)

I need more info: which xine version are you building?  Are you using one
of the stable pkgsrc branches?
