GRUB (package sysutils/grub) doesn't support all of NetBSD-specific bootflags. In details, GRUB supports only FreeBSD flags (fortunatelly, most of them has same values in Net and Free). At this time is impossible to pass flags 'z', 'x' or 'q' when booting netbsd kernel from GRUB.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try something like (in GRUB) and see no difference from normal boot.
kernel --type=netbsd /netbsd -z
