Xorg 6.8.2 includes a change to xf86Xinput.c which causes the mouse to snap to 
the left side of the screen after a few seconds of acceleration.

Within DragonFly we determined reliably the cause of this problem.

Install Xorg 6.8.2 and a window manager.  Move mouse around for a little while.
