>Description:
I have created a pkgsrc package, math/p5-PDL, for PDL 2.4.2, the "Perl Data Language". In the words of the PDL developers, "PDL turns perl in to a free, array-oriented, numerical language similar to (but, we believe, better than) such commerical packages as IDL and MatLab."

The PDL home page is http://pdl.perl.org/

A tarball of my p5-PDL directory is at:
  http://recalcitrant.org/~apost/p5-PDL-pkgsrc.tgz

The package currently does not support the graphics capabilities of PDL, nor does it support the FFTW or GSL wrappers. For the parts that it does support, however, it passes all of PDL's self-tests.
