        patchad replaces C++ comments with C comments, but iagno/othello.c in
        the tarball I downloaded
        (/usr/pkgsrc/distfiles/gnome-games-2.10.0.tar.bz2) has C comments. 
        patch(1) complains.

        cd /usr/pkgsrc/games/gnome2-games
        make patch

        rm patch/patchad; make install
