OK, since this really is not my day, I have to admit: even after reverting
back to pkgsrc-2004Q4-base (and thus to perl-5.8.5nb6) perl gets compiled
w/o pthread-support.
The only change I can think of to the one machine which once compiled a
threaded-perl is the change from version 2.0 to 2.0.1 of the kernel and
its userland.
