>Description:
(Please see thread of same name in current-users, early January 2005).

An 'xterm' window cannot be closed (depending on how it was invoked).

The xterm window cannot be closed using the 'x' icon in the upper right
corner or using ^D from the xterm prompt.

This happens when bash2 is the default shell (but not with ksh).

Another complication: even using ksh as the default shell, this
bug shows up when invoking xterm from a custom gnome icon on the
gnome panel, but not when starting xterm from a run dialog.

The problem never occurs when xterm is started by typing 'xterm' at any
shell prompt -- only when started from the gnome panel.

>How-To-Repeat:
Create a gnome custom icon for 'xterm' and click on it to start xterm.

Try to close the xterm window using the 'X' icon in the upper right corner
or by typing 'exit' or ^D at the xterm prompt.

The window stays open and consumes many CPU cycles until receiving a
signal 9. A signal 15 is ignored.

Signal 15 is ignored under these conditions, while signal 9 is accepted.

>Fix:
Dunno, sorry.
