I am building in a chrooted environment and have the same problems.
It was a real mess to build qt3-tools and arts.
With a lot of libtool make tricks i was able to build both. But on the other
hand: artsplay and the other tools produce coredumps.
I will set up a new chroot environment in order to get these packages built.
Maybe i extracted too few sets into the envoronment.
