I went ahead with the solution you hinted at and I rebuilt all my p5-*
packages on the "build machine" so I don't think I'll be able to provide
any more feedback on this. I think you're right, though. I went from
perl to perl-threaded and then back to perl doing forced installs at
times, so it was all kind of messed up.
