>Description:
graphics/xv builds and installs without complaint.  When run, it
displays its splash image OK.  Attempting to load an image file
causes it to crash with the following message:

X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  Major Opcode:  64

(It seems to load GIF, XPM/XBM, IFF/ILBM, and text files just fine,
but other file/image types cause it to crash as shown above.)

build and install graphics/xv

$ xv <path/to/image/file.ext>

observe error

$ xv

{open control panel, open Load dialog, browse to desired file,
 either double-click the filename, or select the filename and
 click OK}
