The NetBSD pkgsrc logic checks for and, if not available (because, for example, deleted in the mean time), fetches a packages source file(s) even if .extract_done exists.
>How-To-Repeat:
compile a package, delete the source file(s) from distfiles, then bmake package.
>Fix:
The pkgsrc logic should probably check whether that package has at least been extracted already, and if no, not bother to check of the source file(s).
