Per a post of mine, I wouldn't advise enabling it anyway...

I'm not sure if I'm seeing the same thing.  I'm compiling openoffice2
from source.  The system is 100% busy -- but it's spending 70+% of its
time in interrupt handlers.

31 processes:  1 runnable, 29 sleeping, 1 on processor
CPU states: 22.5% user,  0.0% nice,  3.6% system, 73.9% interrupt,  0.0% idle
