I have been using qemu lately, and find it to be incredibly fast, even 
without the
kqemu accelerator. Would Vmware be using a hypervisor? It would seem if 
Xen can not,
then Vmware also would not. I do not believe
 kqemu is in pkgsrc because the code was only recently released. So it 
would take Linux
to run that accelerator.
