there is a little improvement...

After having rebuilt two different kernels, the first with apm but no
acpi, the second with acpi (and apm emulation) but not apm, apmd and
powerd being enabled,
the two kernels react the same way: 
 apm -S do not work. 
 apm -z effectively suspend the laptop.
 resume the laptop results in an horrible continuous beep with a black
 screen and I have no other choice but to press power button off.

Any suggestion or comment welcome.
