Are you using Samba? Because IIUC the error is reported while Samba is
trying to get the maximum number available, increasing the number
requested until it fails. If this is indeed the case, increasing the
sysctl value will not "solve" the problem---there is no problem indeed,
just a behavior that is really annoying, filling dmesg buffer.
