Zafer, Istanbul'dan merhaba...
I think it is my fault, probably, although i followed the steps as decribed.
After kernel upgrade, i installed new kernel and once i restarted OS, it
restarted itself after 30 secs later.
Now i reinstalled netbsd4 kernel, and checked /var/log/messages. I see:
-----/var/log/messages------------------------------------
May 20 04:52:43 localhost savecore: no core dump
May 20 04:52:44 localhost apmd: cannot open device file `/dev/apmctl'
May 20 04:53:01 localhost kdm_greet[96]: Can't open default user face
May 20 04:53:53 localhost gconfd (username-359): starting (version 2.16.0),
pid 359 user 'username'
May 20 04:53:54 localhost gconfd (username-359): Resolved address
"xml:readonly:/usr/pkg/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory" to a read-only
configuration source at position 0
May 20 04:53:54 localhost gconfd (username-359): Resolved address
"xml:readwrite:/home/username/.gconf" to a writable configuration source at
position 1
May 20 04:53:54 localhost gconfd (username-359): Resolved address
"xml:readonly:/usr/pkg/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults" to a read-only
configuration source at position 2
May 20 14:26:28 localhost dhclient: DHCPREQUEST on sip0 to 192.168.1.1 port
67
May 20 14:26:28 localhost dhclient: DHCPACK from 192.168.1.1
May 20 14:26:28 localhost dhclient: bound to 192.168.1.10 -- renewal in
42530 seconds.
May 20 19:00:00 localhost syslogd: restart
May 20 19:00:10 localhost syslogd: restart
May 20 20:05:13 localhost gconfd (username-359): GConf server is not in use,
shutting down.
May 20 20:05:13 localhost gconfd (username-359): Exiting
May 20 20:05:39 localhost syslogd: Exiting on signal 15
May 20 20:07:46 localhost syslogd: restart
-----/var/log/messages------------------------------------
So, i think i need to create /home/username/.gconf file.
Zafer,
I have KDE, Pardus theme, openoffice and lots of softwares installed. After
upgrade, all /usr/pkg/* will remain and keep original settings?
I'm an intermedieate user, can compile my kernel etc.
Regards,
