Hum...

I had a look at /var/run/samba/smbd.log and found these entries at the end:

[2007/04/15 09:36:20, 1] smbd/files.c:file_init(195)
  file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 1752 are 
available.
[2007/04/15 09:59:38, 1] smbd/files.c:file_init(195)
  file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 1752 are 
available.
[2007/04/15 10:23:04, 1] smbd/files.c:file_init(195)
  file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 1752 are 
available.
[2007/04/15 11:02:04, 1] smbd/files.c:file_init(195)
  file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 1752 are 
available.
[2007/04/15 17:32:12, 1] smbd/files.c:file_init(195)
  file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 1752 are 
available.


So... I think this might have something to do... though not necessarily 
the only reason.

My smb.conf file is rather big... but is there a place where I can 
configure the max number of files it can handle?
