Sorry. Early morning. Bad wording. NetBSD came from BSD4.4, which was 
the end of the line for the "original" BSD, which started out on PDP-11 
and later moved to VAXen.

NetBSD itself started on something else. Don't remember if that was 
Amiga, or if it was some i386 thing. It's probably documented somewhere 
on the web.
