Hi Guys,

yesterday I restarted my lpd daemon. (other reason).
--> all I remember doing.

Now I can't print at all. major crisis.

Constantly get:
su# tail /var/log/lpd-errs
Mar 16 14:54:55 su lpd[475]: /dev/lp: No such file or directory

Apparantly /dev/lp has gone AWOL.

No friggen idea why. Didn't touch the damn thing.

- MAKDEV lp won't work.
- Reboot won't work.
- restart lpd won't work.
- old printcap won't work as said.

Does anyone know where /dev/lp has gone???

worked with lp for years.!

thanks,
Paul.

here is printcap:
