	Hello,

the NetBSD release engineering team has recently integrated extensive
changes to the Virtual Filesystem Layer of the NetBSD kernel in the
"netbsd-4" branch (NetBSD 4.0_BETA2). Details are available here:

	http://releng.NetBSD.org/cgi-bin/req-4.cgi?show=422

These changes fix many deadlock problems in NetBSD's nullfs and unionfs
virtual filesystems. They did however require a version bump of the kernel
because some of the internal APIs changed.

As a result Loadable Kernel Modules (LKMs) compiled for previous
NetBSD 4.0_BETA2 kernels will not work with kernels compiled from sources
including these changes. Please recompile those kernel modules (e.g. the
"aperture" module available in "pkgsrc") before booting an updated kernel.

	Kind regards
