Hi Matthias,
I copied it ok as far as I can tell. Here is the output from a cd to these files, perhaps i missed something. File permissions or something, your suggestion would certainly seem to make sense, given the error message, but the files seem to be in the right place (?).
$ cd /var/chroot/named/etc
$ ls
localtime named.conf namedb
$ cd namedb
$ ls
cache namedb
$ cd namedb
$ ls
127 localhost loopback.v6 root.cache
$ ls -l
total 20
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 259 Feb 12 23:34 127
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 286 Feb 12 23:34 localhost
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 262 Feb 12 23:34 loopback.v6
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 2583 Feb 12 23:34 root.cache
The name of my machine is localhost.local
st.net could this be confusing something somewhere?
Many thanks.

Alasdair
