I need console to be on com0. Soekris has no keyboard, no display
and i wanted it to boot and be absolutely sure i would get the
required console where it physically is.

The option was there and i had no time to spend trying and fixing
again and again until it works if there was any trouble (either
they would have been none is no longer a concern anyway).

I will have to try that.

But the question does remain. In the Generic kernel config file
this option sets it per default at 0x2f8 while a little farther we
have another option (for kernel debugger) that allows to set it
to 0x3f8. This difference did puzzle me more than seeing that all
i386 machines i could check have their com0 at 0x3f8

And i like the idea the console is forced where i want it to be,
where it should be and where it has, physically, to be.

Thanks for your reply.
