And I repeatedly stated I couldn't and I didn't want to do that

Yes sir! I apologize for the inconveniences. I use sylpheed-gtk from
NetBSD binaries with following setting:
- Compose Tab: Editor Subtab: 72 characters set from start
- Send Tab: set RFC 2231
But I've evidently forgot to select another option. Thanks. My fault
this time.
