You only need to copy "/usr/pkg/share/examples/rc.d/milter-greylist" to
"/etc/rc.d" and add this line to "/etc/rc.conf:.

miltergreylist=YES

What did you actually put in your "/etc/rc.conf"? "milter-greylist"
shouldn't get started by "/etc/rc.d/sendmail". Something seems to
be badly broken on your system.
