Does that motherboard have 64Bit and/or 66MHz PCI slots?

That's why you shouldn't buy RealTek network cards. ;-)
But seriously:
I didn't have any problem with an Intel PRO1000/MT card in a Tadpole Voyager.
And the PCI chipset in that machine (same as in Sun's ULTRA5) is probably as
old as the Intel VS440FX.
