1.) Compile a kernel which allows more memory for network packets.
    I use this setting on my server:

options		NMBCLUSTERS=4096

2.) Get a proper network card. RealTek cards are known to be problematic.
    Using them in a server is a reliable way to ask for trouble.(*)
