Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong list to ask about pkg_delete related
problems. I've posted to pkgsrc-users, but since the error has to do
with NetBSD, I figure maybe I can get some answers here too.

I am trying to remove GNOME from my system, and so I ran "pkg_delete
-nvdR gnome-base" (wanted to see what all gets removed, hence the "-n"
option). This is what I end up with:

[root@take2 ~]# pkg_delete -vndR gnome-base
Attempting to delete package `gnome-base-2.14.0nb1'
Attempting to remove dependency on package `GConf2-ui>=2.13.5'
Attempting to remove dependency on package `GConf2>=2.13.5'
Attempting to remove dependency on package `ORBit2>=2.14.0'
Attempting to remove dependency on package `atk>=1.11.3'
<snip>
Attempting to remove dependency on package `startup-notification>=0.8'
Attempting to remove dependency on package `vte>=0.12.0'
Building list of packages that `gnome-base-2.14.0nb1' required
pkg_delete: can't allocate 20 bytes: Cannot allocate memory <<-----------------

Any ideas why this is happening? I did a search on Google and the list
archives, all I could find was this post [1] where another user
removing GNOME 3 years ago had the same problem. But I couldn't see
any replies to his problem.

I had installed GNOME thru pkgsrc.

Thanks,
Rakhesh
