Does it still fail with the

	bge0: RX CPU  self-diagnostics failed!
	bge0: chip initialization failed

messages?

The current status for me (with a Latitude D620) is that the latest if_bge.c 
fixed that problem and that I then have a bge0 device that I can ifconfig.  
However with a multiprocessor kernel, if i try to use it I get the "watchdog 
timeout -- resetting" messages that have hit some other bge users *but* with 
a uniprocessor kernel everything works fine.
