Greetings all,
I am wondering if there is any reason not to create a RAIDFrame set
that mixes and matches SATA and PATA drives. Specifically, I want to
create a RAID5 volume comprised of 3 PATA and 2 SATA drives (all
drives will have their own dedicated channel... no slaves here). Are
there negative performace implications? Will I have a problem if (say)
a PATA drive fails and I replace it in the future with a SATA drive?
(I can't see any issues here, but maybe I'm just not imaginative
enough).
Also, while I'm on the topic, will I have problems labling and
newfs'ing a 1.2TB volume? What is the current FS size limit (on NetBSD
3)?
Thanks in advance!
