I don't think you're being detailed enough.  Try updating pkgsrc and
rebuilding.  Then post the parts where it started to go bad, not the
very end.

Your XF86Config is probably in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/etc (if I remember correc=
tly).
xf86configure is sorely dated.  You should try xf86xfg (not sure on
case) next time, it's gui based and a lot better at guessing.  (it
also creates readable files without 10000 lines of useless commentary)
