I have used the native version for at least a few years. It appears to be
reasonably stable; I often have it open with ten plus tabs for a couple
months at a time. It does close sometimes, but I don't know why.
I also use the pkgsrc-built Linux version on Linux. I do not see any
improvements. I do not use the binary version.

I wonder if that delay in starting is caused by libraries that are
needed -- maybe they are already in use on the Linux system (before
starting firefox or gqview).
