Hello -

I am fairly new to NetBSD and I recently tried my hand at installing and
configuring a NetBSD 3.0-RELEASE system. I wanted to use the binary
packages that have been built for the i386 port and noticed that when I
added the packages (say xfce4-4.2.3.2.tgz) with the command: 'pkg_add -v
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/pkgsrc-2005Q4/NetBSD-3.0/i386/All/xfce4-4.2.3.2.tgz',
the packages seemed to install correctly but the pkg_add command never
seemed to return. The last output printed to the console was 'ftp>
close'. I had to hit Ctrl-C to get back to the prompt. This behavior
seemed to occur regardless of the package that I tried to install.

Is pkg_add supposed to exit after installing packages? Am I doing
anything wrong?

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards,

Joshua W. Biagio
