I started modifying your code to add a text with the time at the bottom
of the picture. This required a moce to libgd instead of libjpeg. I also
added the code to choose the video format (so that I don't need to run
fxtv at boot)

Are you interested by integrating the changes, or should I start a fork?
While I'm there, I plan to add GIF and PNG output, and a config file so
that I don't have to type the numerous command line options.
