Hi there,

I've upgraded from 2.0_RC3 to 3.0.0_STABLE today, and have noticed that
with the new kernel I'm having a load constantly above 1.00, even if
seemingly nothing happens.

   First lines of 'top' output:

load averages: 1.64, 1.64, 1.34 18:05:37
82 processes: 3 runnable, 78 sleeping, 1 on processor
CPU states: 1.0% user, 0.0% nice, 0.0% system, 0.0% interrupt, 99.0% idle
Memory: 164M Act, 5028K Wired, 29M Exec, 72M File, 49M Free
Swap: 362M Total, 362M Free

PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND
   719 bigmac 2 0 5452K 8376K RUN 2:04 0.15% 0.15% xmms
   471 bigmac 2 0 8308K 11M RUN 0:07 0.05% 0.05% irssi
   192 bigmac 2 0 23M 27M RUN 0:24 0.00% 0.00% XFree86
   755 mysql 18 0 34M 16M sigwait 0:06 0.00% 0.00% mysqld
   720 bigmac 2 0 396K 2620K select 0:05 0.00% 0.00% sshd

This is an i386 box, with a CPU around 711MHz. What might cause this? I
don't think this much should make up such a load average.

Thanks in advance.
