"growisofs" is able to burn DVDs (+R, -R, +RW and -RW) at quadruple speed
which is the maximum that my medias allow. The difference is however that
my DVD writer (NEC ND-2500A) is connected via IDE.

That's no problem at quadruple speed even if the sources file are on an
NFS volume.
