Looks like the SB400 probably doesn't support NCQ.

I've had good luck with NCR and Qlogic SCSI controllers.

Both proprietary and free/open source organizations have
trouble getting info from Adaptec.  Longstanding problem.

If you're going all-SCSI, make sure the firmware can boot
from your chosen controller.
