Thanks. Someone else indicated that it will not restart non-holding disk
dumps. I moved things around and was able to run it last night. Things
worked fine with the larger holding area.

I am going to ask the "hackers" why this limitation is there. It looks
fairly easy in the code to retry things for non-holding disk based dumps.

It's not clear to me that amanda really supports restarting a dump
directly to tape.  Perhaps it should, but my quick reaction is that by
not havind a holding disk that's as big as your tape drive, or bigger,
you are operating in a space that amanda folks say you shouldn't, and
thus more likely to run into trouble.  I'd suggest buying a bigger
holding disk - I suspect that's the easiest way to solve your problem.
