use NetBSD-1.4.* - it works fine on 4MB and will probably support all your
hardware.
NetBSD-1.5.* boots on 4MB but it's not much usable, usable on 8-12MB.
NetBSD 2.0 and above requires 16MB or more memory to be useful.
