It worked for me the last time I tried building it on 2005-07-12. Could you
please let us know how you tried to build it e.g. with what "build.sh"
argument and what the error was?

NetBSD 3.0_BETA is working for me, I'm actually using it right now. So let's
try to figure out your build problem first.
